Working closely with a small core team, the Business Development Officer will help to increase the penetration of Fairtrade labelled products in the Indian market. You’ll be a good communicator and self-starter, and will already have experience in selling/business development in the Business to business space.
Develop Prospect Pipeline & convert into Fairtrade licensees
The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to prospect for new clients in adopting Fairtrade standards, develop relationships with them and convert them into the Fairtrade licensees. Detailed set of activities are mentioned below
Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
Research and build relationships with new clients.
Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
Manage the solution development for the offering.
Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
Help growth of Fairtrade product range and penetration in India
Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
Participate in Industry forums
Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
